ME/CFS is a serious and common disease

The World Health Organization classifies ME/CFS as a neurological disorder.

The Institute of Medicine recognises that symptoms of ME/CFS persist for years, and most patients never retain their pre-disease level of functioning.

Between 0.4 and 1% of all people have ME/CFS. Data reported by the National Academies of Sciences estimates that only 15% have been diagnosed.
