Busting the myths and redefining myalgic encephalomyelitis _chronic fatigue syndrome (ME_CFs) (3).png

An estimated 20,000 to 40,000 New Zealanders live with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS).

This RNZCGP-endorsed education module created by ThinkGP, provides the latest understanding of the pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of ME.

ME/CFS is a complex, chronic, debilitating disease with systemic effects. This module aims to educate GPs and others working in the primary care space about the evolving understanding of ME/CFS as an illness, and looks at some of the myths surrounding diagnosis and treatment.

M.E. Awareness NZ in collaboration with the RNZCGP is excited to announce that this module has been endorsed as part of the RNZCGP continuing medical education program (CME) for New Zealand doctors and medical professionals. The 1 hour module is worth up to 1 RNZCGP credits on completion.

The module covers:

  • Pathophysiological changes

  • Diagnostic criteria

  • Tools for patient assessment

  • Resources for patients on symptom management
